Early Experimental Photography

Artistic Development

The photographs seen above, and many more in a Flickr album linked below are early explorations I made into photography in high school. Back then, my friends and I would host “Artistic Development Nights” on the weekends where we would get together, go to thrift stores, and try to put together a photo series in one night. This meant using whatever props we could find at the store, and whatever we had already accumulated to make something experimental and improvisational. These Artistic Development Nights were some of the most valuable time I had growing up, since they provided a platform for me to explore early artistic interests with my friends, developing myself collaboratively and personally. I also learned the medium of photography, both analog and digital, this way, which has translated into personal photo projects and professional brand work today.

Each of these projects explores different ideas and themes, mostly centered around the angst of growing up in suburban America.
