This project took data on the rate of reported mental health issues per county in Colorado, the ratio of patient to mental health service provider, and the population of the county, and represented it through molecules. Each molecule represents a county in Colorado, with the distance between the “atoms” determined by the ratio of mental health service providers to patients. The rotation is controlled by the rate of mental health issues in the county, with faster rotations implying that the county is under more duress. The size of the molecule is determined by the population. Each county is laid out in a grid approximately (though not exactly) where they sit on the map of the state.
